    Ponyboy, also the build date on the engine is 9c31 or March 31, 1969 which I presume eliminates the Cleveland. I'll look again for a B or C or D but I don't think it's there.

    Ponyboy, Thanks so much for the insight. The fifth didgit of the car's vin is 3 (vin begins 82F03FXXXXXX). Does this shed any additional light on the subject? I did not see any additional markings on the casting numbers like b or c or d. If I could figure out how to post a picture or someone...

    Thanks for the feedback. I bought the car as a driver so it doesn't really matter to me. But when it comes to selling I want to be sure I represent the car for what it is.

    Good afternoon: Happy to be part of the club!! Here's my question. I have a 1972 Mustang Convertible. We fully restored the car in 2009 as original. I never checked the engine as we had it restored as a driver car. As it turns out, the engine is a 1969 vintage. Engine casting number C9OE-6015...
