Well, I checked the vac lines and they seem to be ok. Also there is no vac leak noise around the engine except for the front of the throttle body. Also when it first starts up it makes some light white smoke out of both tail pipes and doesn't seem to be as black now. I unplugged the MAP...

Hey guys, I checked the compression, all cylinders close to 150psi. I changed the spark plugs and now it runs better and idles. Changed the ACT as well. Still dumps black smoke so I'm going to check the vac lines to the MAP sensor next. Still not sure if it is a reverse rotation water pump...

Ok, ill take some more pics of that part of the engine. Also, how can I tell what rotation the water pump is? Thanks!!!

I almost forgot, these 2 vacuum sources on the TB are not connected to anything. Would this cause a rich condition? I'm not sure how it would affect a speed density system, but I'll plug them either way tomorrow.

Thanks to the advice from those who responded, I was able to start up my mustang for the first time tonight. Of the 2 ecus provided when I bought it, none were the correct ones for the car. I got the older style 87-88 (DC) speed density computer for $50 and the thing starts up and runs...

erg yea it looks that way. I was thinking about just getting the painless efi harness for the mass air mustang, and the painless chassis harness. Then id have to do the mass air conversion though. I wish I could just get it to run before I have to do all of that. Thanks for the help!

Yes, the car is speed density. There is a possibility that both ecms are bad and or wrong. I'm not really sure what to look for to identify them. The fuel pump will stay on indefinitely as long as the key is on, not just a quick prime. Ill do some tests tonight and take some pics. Thanks!
