Dragsters twist the crank (torsionally) so far (20 degrees in the big end of the track) that sometimes cam lobes are ground offset from front to rear to re-phase the valve timing somewhere closer to synchronization with the pistons.

yes it does add up really fast, now that i broke it again.. ill be spending $800 for a trans, $400 for a clutch, $760 for a driveshaft

when it comes time for me- i am buying a saleen twin screw from brenspeed and doing the install myself :D

biggest problem is buying all the right stuff to make your car handle the power. if you have a stock 5 speed, throw it away, driveshaft wont last long, rear end will need beefing, bigger brakes, springs and sway bars. turns into an expensive project really fast
