Well a good day was had at Atco Raceway on Tuesday. It was a bit cold to start the day and the track was a bit slick. Some work by the track staff got the track in good order and we set out to run some new personal bests. Here are the results Atco Raceway Vette Doctor's Performance Track...

exactly... we started @ 30mph... to high for 1st gear, too low for 2nd as I was only at 3000 rpm or so. If you watch I stop his pull near the top of 2nd and start to reel him back in, then I blow the shift. The driver lost that race not the car....... I dont care for them either. Thanks...

the stock tranny with a converter has run 9s! IIRC they are rated to 550 ft/lbs stock. yes you can get a built 5r55s, several shops do them. Level 10 TCI

MGW or Pro 5.0 best two out there. I have an MGW its terrific, I've driving Pro 5.0s and they are very good as well. the pro 5.0 seemed to be a bit lighter in throws, the MGW is more adjustable. / thread

my .02 Centri - docile under 3000 rpm - pulls like a mofo above and doesnt stop. Nice balance for a street car / race car Roots/TS - instant torque - loses a bit in the high RPM area. any big HP gain IMHO will require an upgrade to your suspension, at least LCAs bare minimum.

what are your goals for the car? street cruiser? strip burner? etc.... that will make a big difference in what will work best for you

well of course a overdrive gear with a .65 ratio is not going to pull like a 1:1 ratio, however compared to a 3.55 it's a world of difference. I can pass on the highway now in 5th without feeling the need to drop it to 4th, unless of course I want the adrenaline rush!

4.10s will help your WOT in 5th above 70 a ton. The car will actually pull! The only time you'll see a difference, in theory is when you run out of gear/RPM around 175-180 (assuming a manual and stock tire height & 6000 rpm), however most of us will not have the power to overcome the...
