NoterminatorFox body. Easier to build, along with cheaper. Doesn't take much to make a Fox fast. Plus it's not likely you'll find one that's stock, so most likely your work will already have been started. :D
onlycoderedHonestly I would recommend you get a New Edge GT to replace your V6. After the new style S197 (not 05-09) I think the New Edge style has aged the best. Plus you could probably take some of your bolt-ons off your V6 and transfer them over to a GT.
NoterminatorAged the best? Dude the Fox Mustang's are classics and dominate at the tracks. Plus out of all 9 mustangs I've owned, the fox bodies have gotten the most respect from other car groups, and are very reliable an easy to work on.
onlycoderedI mean aged the best in terms of looks. If you want something to upgrade the hell out of then go for a Fox. I still think the New Edge looks the best with minimal mods. Do you want a track star or a cruiser?
NoterminatorFox bodies are fun cruisers too. I take it you've never owned one? Most who haven't don't usually understand why they are so popular. Great track cars, fun cruisers, easy to work on, cheap to buy parts for, lots of respect from car guys, etc. The list goes on.
onlycoderedYeah I definitely respect the Fox bodies. Never had one. The Mustang I have now is actually my first ever. I just don't think the the Foxes look as good as 1999 and up or the old 1965-1970 stangs. Looks are big for me personally. I know everyone has different opinions on that stuff though. :D
NoterminatorI love the Fox Bodies and the old 73 on back. It's all about classic to me. We'll see if the new edge even become a classic. I honestly think they have too modern of a look.
redlawyersI'd go fox body. Now you choose which year. Either 1982-86 style or 87-93 style
NoterminatorOr he could go with the 79-81 style. Not really my type, but some like them. And I've def seen some sick built 79 pace cars.
NoterminatorYea almost stock compared to a high end exotic maybe lol. Otherwise far from it. :D
bluepony05okay sorry guys i haven't responded onlycodered: I mean aged the best in terms of looks. If you want something to upgrade the hell out of then go for a Fox. I still think the New Edge looks the best with minimal mods. Do you want a track star or a cruiser? i am looking for both crusing and track my dad has a pontiac firebird with a 455 in it and am sick of getting blown away so im looking to be able to upgrade it and still be able to have some fun. I am not the richest so it is hard to look at the new GT's with those price tags also i just love the sound of older muscle cars. My current v6 mustang i got for a steal and there for had to buy it i have always been into classic cars but the new interior of the newer mustangs just look so much classier for a family and what not. either way it is only a summer car i have a pick up i drive all winter so im not worried in that matter i just am not exactly sure on what way to go for reliable vs price
NoterminatorWell fox mustangs are def very reliable and easy to fix. Plus the value is already starting to increase. Just look around. They use to sell for $1500-3,000 for a clean 5.0. Now most are selling for $5000+ even semi beat up ones. Their def reaching classic status, so if your gonna get one noes the best time before the prices climb even higher. Parts are relatively cheap in comparison to the modulars as well.
bluepony05thats what i am most worried about if i buy a fox and upgrade it, it will be the price of the newer gt's and will be what i want (tone, hp, tq) things like that the only things holding me back is just the look of the newer mustangs i really want a black on black or white on black fox has to be 5 speed and im kinda picky so if i find the right one ill buy it but would also have to get rid of my convertible at some point to dont need two summer cars plus my winter
