Not sure what to look for if it is mechanical. I'm going to pull a valve cover this afternoon to see what I can see. I knoe the adjustments were made according to spec. I have read a lot lately about the fact that synthetics perform differently. Better or not is yet to be determined, I guess.

I just finished installing a new cam,hydraulic lifters, intake, carb on my 83 302. I filled it with 10W30 synthetic. The engine noise(sounds like rockers) is deafening! I'm wondering if it is due to the oil weight or the fact it is synthetic. I have talked to a couple of engine guys who think it...

My dad and I have been working on an '83 GT. Finally got the interior up to "driveable" a couple months ago. Pulling the motor over the winter. Nice to find a NY Mustang group!
