Well, yes, if it was someone else it would have been different. White male punching an officer would likely equal officer punching white male. Pregnant Latino woman or 12 year old boy punching an officer and he probably wouldn't have "returned fire." But we trust these uniformed individuals to do what is "right" and he reacted in a way that he felt was right when being threatened as an officer of the law. At the end of the day, assault on an officer is assault on an officer whether your age, race, creed, sexual orientation. I think it's a little early in the game to draw the race line just yet.
