I have the tool so don't buy one. When you plan on doing the cams then let me know. And if you want I will help you. Also I think you would be better off just taking the cover off. Not that hard and you can ensure you didn't slip a link. Also some of the cam gears are press on so the tool is usless in that case.
great thread tbapp3. i am going NA as well, i eventually want to hit at LEAST 300+hp without and turbos or superchargers. im following this thread very closely. but what is this 'full bolt on' that im reading everywhere? is it some type of kite or something?
SWEET!
Can someone show me exactly what heads are......In the pics Iv seen that I seem to think are them seem to be a majority of the engine
I know that sounds silly but Im still kinda new to this!

wait...so bolt ons are anything that can be modded simple by bolts? seems to be if you get every bolt on mod, you might have well installed a s.c, no? you might even save money too!
basically anything that bolts onto the motor without taking it apart is called bolt on. CAI, trottlebody, plenum, intake manifold, under drive pulleys, A/C delete, all that is considered bolt ons

ohh gotcha, bolt ons to the ENGINE... :smash: thnx for the info. after the body work, ima start on the performance mods. might hit up mustang magic for em
Awesome.... If I were to be going in the NA route what are some head selections.... I saw the Trick Flow....
I could do cams and not heads right... Or do the heads bring alot of the power?!?!?!
Thanks again guys, Loving the input!
Woo wowo woo....NO need to start the smack talking.... Honestly I believe for the cost of a 2v in comparison to your s197 the power for dollar issue is not horrible on our side.....You can get a 96-04 2v for pretty damn cheap in comparison to a 05-09 thats for sure!
lol. sorry to hear that. Its all good. I am happy just knowing that I was able to do all the work myself and the turnout was impressive to me. Thats what makes me smile when I am going down the road. Build that 3v up and show what numbers it can push. I want you to show me how its done up in the tough guy section.

I wouldn't want to hurt your feelings, I could put a whipple or a roush TVS on my baby and put anywhere from 450-500rwhp on about 6-9lbs of boost...
Anything more than 500rwhp and the rods have a very very good chance of breaking
I'll be putting forged shit in my block before I do F/I though
