Default Need Opinions

I was looking to go with a Top End Kit from someone and was getting caught up in a few things. Im not looking to make 700+ Horsepower, but I would not mind getting the most bang for the buck. I also was looking to put it on a New engine from LMR. Any Ideas or anything that would help would be great. Thanks

Injected. I thought about a blower or a hair dryer, but im not sure if I want to do that. I actually was thinking about doing the top end kit and a single turbo.

the Holley systemax top end kit would be my choice if i was doing what you are. I think it costs around $2500. Awsome bang for the buck!!! p.s. I have driven a car with this kit on it, its had a bone stock shortblock stock t-5 and 3.73's out back. makes for one killer streetcar!

Canfields, custom solid roller cam, and a matching intake (I know virtually nothing about F.I. choices) would be the best 'bang for your buck.'

Sure it will cost more now, but at least you have decent stuff that works together and you wont be replacing everything in a year.

Yea Canfields are good heads but I wouldn't put them in the "bang for your buck" category at their price. Their are heads on the market that perform equally as well and cost less.(ex. Victor jr.,TFS Highports). Any way it sounds like the guy is building more "streeter" type vehicle so a custom grind solid roller might be a little overkill.Somtimes you have to choose parts according to application type rather than what will make the most hp ,I've seen alot people make that mistake end up with race car motors in their streetcars and killed the drivability of the car.

You want a good top end kit.AFR165's,custom cam by jay Allen or Ed Curtis and an elderbrock rpm2 you will probably put down around 305-315 to the wheels. With a different cam (lunati 51014) i put down 309 on my old motor

I'm a huge believer in the Vic. Jr heads, Edelbrock or TFS intake and a Jay Allen or Kennedy's Dynotune cam. It's a good solid combo and won't cost you a million bucks.

Jay Allen =

Only reason I suggested Canfields is because to me, bang for the buck means doing it right the first time.
What about a solid roller makes it 'not streetable'

Or some people call Ebay pro-comp heads bang for the buck. Then they are until there blue in the face and they still have junk.

I think Im going to go Trick flow. It comes with everything I need. I was eye balling the AFR's. I have their new catalog that has a 95 gt vert auto ( same as my car ) with the 165cc heads and a few other bolt ons hitting 251 hp. I dont know if that is good for the price, but I guess it's better then the 179 hp stock.
