Default Whats your modlist?(see what others are doing)

This is from another forum I go to, and has been useful. The thread is simple. Post up your current mod list of your sixer. Don't include what you're gonna do, or what you'd like to do, only include what you have purchased that's on the car or waiting to go on as you can always follow back up on your post. ONLY POST YOUR LIST, NO REPLYS.

Also, in addition to your list, make a DOs, and DON'Ts list. In other words, list what you liked about your set up in the DO area, and what you're kicking yourself in the rear end for in the Don'ts. Yet again, don't list things you don't have. This is for those of you that love your exhaust set up in comparison to others, but you're kicking yourself in the rear end for getting a MAC x pipe, or ebay CAI, or just whatever you've done you regret doing so.

A few, not a lot, but a few pics would also be nice so people can see what these mods will look like on their ride.

The reason for this thread is so that people can learn from other people. I see so many post about what CAI to get, and what gears feel best, and what exhaust to get, etc. The point of this post is for people to see what other people are doing. If somebody is split between CAI A, and CAI B, and a new member sees that CAI A seems to be the most popular, then they might get that one instead, or ask a different question about that CAI, instead of an "In General" whatCAI to get thread.

Pros: Ive bought most used, so Ive kept cost pretty low. Definately a positive since Im in college. The few mods Ive done now have gotton some compliments, But Im hoping to go further. Ive done more then I intended, but the mods so far really havent cost a lot by themselves, unlike some of the 2v and 4v parts.

Cons: For the time It was stock, It blended in with the crowd too easily. Sometimes the current lack of power gets to me, as does the crappy standard seating. Radio needs upgrading, but its at the bottom. Some of the past mods make me regret wasting money there, instead of getting where I am now.

do's - Exhaust) when you are doing your exhaust go with true duels, i originally had a cat-back duel exhaust and the difference in sound since i made it true duels is amazing.
Short Throw Shifter) great mod the stock shifter on this car was sloppy
Gears and T-Lok) one of the best things i have done, i hear there are better things than the t-lok but so far its held up

don'ts - again dont waste your money on a cat-back make it a true duel
besides that i am pleased with everything i have done

mustangfan's latest status update: 1st cruise this year with cny mustangs out of cortland. Great club and i joined them as a...
Default

Mine are as follows:
Engine:
Generic cold air induction (off of ebay works great)
Exhaust:
Dual exhaust from monroe muffler(ford had it put on so don't ask)
Wheels:
17" cobra center cap wheels with generic tires on it
Radio:
Pioneer cd player (fancy one that i can't remember the name of right now)

Future mods:
410's and tloc for the rearend
Maybe more if money lets me.

The to do list:
Paint the valve covers and intake
Touch up the paint on the car so it wont rust anymore
Try to make a show car out of it

The not to do list:
Anything performance with the motor. Cost to much to make it worth spending cash on it to get respectable hp. Plus if i add everything up i might aswell just bought a gt.

DON'T LIST
Don't take off the cats, if you have to go with Hi-flow Cats but even still the Stock Cats are best left on the car.
Don't put long tubes on your car, the drone you are going to get from them far outweigh the gains. I have been told that they are unbearable on cruises and for a daily driver.
The Stock Throttle Body flows enough air that an aftermarket one isn't really all that needed but if you do decide to get an aftermarket tb I recommend staying away from BBks throttle body. If you are going F/I then you would see some gains but not for a N/A version

Do's: If you can get GT take offs for a reasonable price DO IT !! ... I am personally NOT a fan of Flowmaster and am not real sure it would sound good on a V6 anyway.

If you go with dual exhaust get some sort of rear bumper that has openings for it. I got my GT rear from a friend that was swapping out his bumper for a real good price.

Dual exhaust!! Just be careful of how you go about doing it. If you haven't worked with exhaust before you should probably bring it somewhere or talk to someone here (that is local to you) and see if they can give you any suggestions or maybe even help you do it.

DON'Ts
Assume that all H pipes from a GT will automatically bolt right in without modification!! so far I have converted another car and tried with this car. The first car the pipes were too big ... the stock exhaust was 2 1/4 and the H was 2 1/2 ... I could NEVER get the H to seal to the exhaust manifold quite right. With the 07 I got a stock GT H pipe and even researched to see if it was bolt in ... I am here to tell you it is NOT !! the manifold ends are bent differently and the O2 locations are different ... What I plan on doing is cutting my current exhaust and the H after the cats and clamping or welding the back 1/2 of the H to my front 1/2 of the Y .
