Deans Performance of St. Charles, IL is the self-proclaimed “Home of the Quickest Cobras in Chicagoland,” but don’t take their word for it. The shop recently had one of their customer’s cars, a 2003 SVT Cobra Convertible fitted with a pair of twin 58mm Precision turbos, on the dyno, and the numbers speak for the company’s performance credentials.
With the SVT Cobra strapped securely into the dyno, Deans Performance got the rear tires spinning for an initial run and netted a respectable 748 horsepower and 623 lb-ft torque @ 14 psi. The car was just getting warmed up at that point, though, and with the boost turned up to 23 psi the SVT Cobra then knocked out 878 horsepower and 690 lb-ft torque. For the third and last run the boost was turned up to an incredible 28 psi, and the SVT Cobra responded with an incredible 1038 horsepower and 816 lb-ft torque at the rear wheels.
You can watch the dyno run in the video below, and be sure to turn up your speakers to listen to the sound of the twin-turbo V8.
