I just traded my BMW 335xi for a Kona blue 5.0 mustang; the only option I have is the 3.73 gearing. I feel that I need to give Ford kudos for perhaps building one the most refined and fun mustangs I have ever driven; even with the base options I am surprisingly very comfortable. I came from a fully loaded 335xi and I have absolutely no regrets. The 5.0 handling is on par with that of a BMW and the smoothness of the engine is amazing; even the interior has an upscale feel to it.
I also have a 2004 Cobra and the differences are huge, it is amazing how far Ford has come in seven years (don't get me wrong I still love my Cobra it is just a completely different driving experience).
I just felt that I owe it to Ford to write this small piece; and a fun note Motortrend did a comparison between a Mustang GT and a BMW M3...the mustang lost only by a fraction and it is debatable whether Motortrend made the correct decision...check the article out see what you think (I think some politics were involved, but the fact that the test was even close is an amazing complement to the GT).
