Default rpms....

when i first got my car it revved and dropped the rpms rather quickly and now it wants to hang the rpms and very slowly drop down, and it only drops down when i stop any ideas???

check the wire if it's dried out the throttle will stay opened it happened to my intrepid before

the one connected to the throttle body that wraps around it is that pulley for the flap is dried out the wire holds it open even if your not holding the pedal

here are some photos of what i am taking about i think its the recoil spring that its called if its dried out it will tension on itself and not allow for the throttle body to reset

When you say dried out do you mean it needs lube or it was one of those self lubricating stylesIf it's a lubricating style what type lube would be used.

lithium grease would work or wd40

try pulling the pedal back up with your foot when it does this. if it goes down right away then you know you need to grease up
