Default Road Course School @ Raceway Park - NJ

Event Details
Stumbled upon this by pure luck. Its a road course school class/track day at the road course in Raceway Park:

I've registered, and am set to go! I can say from driving on Watkins Glen at the Finger Lakes Rallye a few weeks ago, that I am hooked on road courses, and I'm hoping this event lives up to what I'm expecting. Should be fun!

Each car has to pass a tech inspection sheet, which must be completed by a car dealer, repair shop, mechanic, or inspector. I thought that they would have tech inspection there, but the response to my email was that the inspection should be done before arriving to the school. (However, she did say for a 2012, the owner could fill out the form themselves).

Anyone going? Would be fun to cruise down there.

Just to follow up for anyone interested in road racing, the school was fantastic! Total amount of laps driven-I don't know, but I entered the track with a full tank of gas (as they recommend), and left with a quarter remaining!

Lots of curves, with a 1,400 mile straight where I was getting to 85 mph. By the end of the day I was exhausted. The amount of concentration required, plus the non-racing seats really taxes you. Not to mention the wear and tire on brakes, and tires. There was nothing but brake dust smell in the air when we first started.

We learned about corner entry and exit and braking, and by afternoon, we were allowed to pass cars in the designated areas. They broke us up into 2 groups of roughly 10 cars. Around 1pm, the Open Track guys came on (advanced drivers), and they rotated on the track with us. Once completing the course, the next date's event, you can return and take the Open Track session.

HIGHLY recommended if you don't mind the abuse on the brakes/tires and yourself. We raced in groups with about 10 mins. of rest as the other group raced. Everybody has resepct for each other, and their rides. Couple of guys ended up in the grass, and one car had to be towed home due to blowing the power steering rack, but overall, its a great time. Next event is Oct. 7th.
