Yeah, that's about the only thing I can do right now. Need to get this thing back on the road!

Drilled and tapped the holes for the iat sensor and for the return EGR coolant line.

And the sensor, EGR return coolant line, and heater lines are on it now. Should be all set to put on now.

I sure hope so! I will be very happy if I have no issues with driveability when it's finally running. So much will be new, and hopefully I did everything right.

Today, a good chunk of progress was made. The lower intake is on, bolted up the motor mounts, Ford Racing flywheel, and Ram HDX clutch. And the motor is damn close to being in. It would've been in tonight, but my dad has to go back to work tonight. Here's how far it is...

Nice Josh!!!!

If the motor isn't bolted in or anything, I would take the opportunity to clean up the engine bay a bit while you have access to everything.

I did clean it....

It really needs to be resprayed, and I don't want to take the time to tuck the wires right now. I need the car done by Monday for college, this damn thing is taking too long.

Why is it every day I work on the car, there is good and bad news?!?!?!?!

The engine slid into the bell housing easy enough and bolted up fine, along with the motor mounts and some other stuff. But when I started bolting on the passenger side header, 3 of the 8 bolts would not go in very far. So I had to unbolt the header from the x pipe and the engine and chase the threads. Well wouldn't you know, one thread looks pretty much f*cked to me! Not sure what the hell to do with that thread, I'm so pissed off right now. Gonna have to chase the threads on the other side too while I'm at it. Might have to use a small bolt for the thread just to get the header tight. Dammit.

Yea hopefully if my Stang is ready by then and on the road lol. I'm hoping to have it on the road for Adirondack Nationals, so we'll see.

Use a heli-coil just drill the hole out to the proper size and install the heli-coil. As long as you can still get a drill on it. If not a regular drill scrounge up a right angle drill. It is a PIA i know but there is a solution. Its a good set to have as I used it on spark plug threads when they strip out. It's a savior for those f*cked up situations.

Yeah, we definitely need more foxes on our cruises, for the cny cruises I usually have the only fox.

Yeah, I thought about the heli coil, but I really didn't want to take the head back off. It is the last header bolt right next to the firewall on the passenger's side. I think I might have the bolt in there tight enough for no exhaust leaks. It might be a little redneck, but for this year it will do hopefully. I put the bolt in with a washer and a locking washer and tightened it up, seemed to hold in pretty well.

Feeling a lot better tonight! I bolted the headers in on both sides, in the heads, and to the x pipe, which was a big relief. Also, I hooked up some more connections and installed the 24lb injectors and the fuel rail to the lower intake. Didn't take any pics because really there isn't too much difference yet.

I'm cautiously optimistic at this point, hoping to possibly fire up the car Thursday or Friday. Still have a good bit to go, but should be a little faster going now.

Yea I'm probably one of the only foxes around here as well. Especially as far as Notchbacks go. Can't wait man, seems you've got her coming along great. My fingers are crossed for you.

Made some more progress, all of the accessories are on now and some more stuff was plugged in. Cleaned up the Explorer tb and egr spacer. Have to order a few more things again, I hear that doing builds like this nickel and dime you but this is a little ridiculous. Hoping to get a half a day off Friday and see if I can get this thing running. I want to get the new fuel pump and fuel filter in tomorrow and the clutch cable hooked up to the new quadrant and firewall adjuster in. Here's another pic of how the car was left tonight.
