Get a ZL1 Camaro; Includes all of the track stuff for a list of $55k. Or better yet.....a Mustang GT with a Whipple SC, Ford Racing suspension parts for around $48k; 300 lbs lighter, 624+ hp, hmmmmmmmmmmm

Good point......and for a few hundred "$" more, you can be north of 650 hp with a proper dyno tune!!

When I bought my Cobra I discovered that there are only two high performance four seat convertibles, the other one is the M3. In 2003 the Cobra was $33k and BMW was about $53k making the Cobra a comparative steal. They are now about the same price, the bang for the buck is gone. Still they are the only four seat high performance convertibles south of $100k so from a market stand point it is priced about right, but certainly not the value it once was.



For the same money, you could buy two super low mileage Convertible Terminators and have more than enough left over to mod one with a whipple and every suspension mod out there!

I voted "too expensive" only because I think most cars sold today cost too much. Otherwise, the GT500 is a great car.

Now I realize that today's cars are safer, faster, brake better, get better mpg, but ...

Example #1:
Back in 1969 C&D tested a well equipped Boss 302 for $4,318. In today's dollars (2010) that would = $25,385.

OUCH!

Example #2:
In that same article, they tested a decently optioned Chevelle SS 454/450hp LS6 at $4,470. That's $26,278 in today's $$.

DOUBLE OUCH!

I they are kind of close to the GTR price when shelby is fully loaded.
A year from now shelby's will be sold for Invoice just have to look around.
