My parking brake hasn't worked since I bought the car. The cables appear to be fine. I had my brother pull the lever while I was under the car and saw less than 1/8" movement where the cables meet, leading me to believe it's a problem with my auto-adjuster.
Not sure if the spring has unwound itself, anything I should check??
I would love to be able to get out of my car while it sits on an incline without having to shut it off...
Any help appreciated!
yea when that happened to mine, i was told it was the ebrake assembly, or, one of the main parts of the whole thing... so, they hit me for the whole shit... new parts for the functional aspect of the ebrake. i dont remember cost... sorry. been a while. 100-200 for part ? prob less online.
Ok, a bunch of people have been passing on buying my car after looking at it, and I feel like this has a lot to do with it. I tell them it doesn't work but I can't even tell them what's involved in fixing it, and I don't know how to fix it myself. The next step is to have a mechanic look at it if I can scrape together some money.
Someone told me to adjust it by putting my foot on the brake and pumping the lever up and down. Does that work for this type of brake? It didn't work for mine...
