CLARKSTOWN - A 21-year-old Suffern man was killed early this morning when the Ford Mustang he was a passenger in overturned on a New York State Thruway embankment and rolled on top of him.
State police in Tarrytown, the office handling the investigation, said criminal charges are pending against against the driver, 20-year-old Suffern resident Brian Frankel, as early indications are that alcohol consumption is a contributing factor in the crash.
***At about 1:45 a.m.***, Frankel lost control of the 2003 Mustang while driving northbound on the Thruway near Exit 13, police reported this morning. The car veered off the roadway and overturned onto an embankment off the right shoulder, ejecting Dominic Zeoli from the rear seat he was in before rolling on top of him.
Zeoli was transported to Nyack Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Frankel, front seat passenger 21-year-old Benjamin Yoel and 22-year-old Andrew Clifford, who was the other rear seat passenger, were all treated at Good Samaritan Hospital for minor injuries and released.
Brian called me at 1:18am last night.......... I feel like shit...... My friend is dead and I cant even begin to wonder why brian called last night.... maybe he knew he was too drunk to drive and just needed a ride..... I will never know.......

I lost a great friend a few years ago to drunk driving as well. Since that day I have never had a drink when I know I will be driving...not even a sip. I know what your feeling and its just an awful feeling
