The mechanical fan was just an OEM equivalent, but I'm in the process of converting to electric earlier than expected.

Held it up at 2K when we had the first good fire and got it warm, after that I was told to put it right in its paces. Motor is completely roller. Used an OEM stat so temps just idle with mechanical fan were right about 200.

Got the car tuned yesterday. Few small bugs to work out before a final tune next spring, but its driveable!

Went from flat black to rattle can gloss. Looks a tad better.

99 Mercury Cougar fan installed.

Getting ready to load up for the 1.5 hr trip to tuners location.

Found a break in the speedo sensor sheathing. Took apart connector to repair.

Installed a 95 Mustang 3G alternator after multiple charging issues!

Installed a 4 gauge power feed from the alternator as well as a ground out of 4 gauge from the engine to the chassis.

Original wire i used from the 95 mustang setup that just wasn't enough.

Voltage with all accessories on! Confirmed 14.6 volts with meter.

And my screw up of the day...... Hood flew up at 40 MPH. We got lucky.

Car still sits as is in the basement. Start it about once a week. Last week let it run with the fan on for a bit and the car got WARM. Not sure if I have an air bubble or issue with my t-stat.

We are currently working on cabinets to redo my kitchen, so I am holding off on car stuff till after that is finished. (Much easier to drive car in/out of garage than push!)

Upcoming plans:

-Need to get a new cluster (mine is rough and super inaccurate, maybe even go back to the dumb pod gauges). I want to know exactly what this motor is doing.

-New A9L or A9P computer as the connections for the chip are in very poor condition. We had troubles getting the car to tune. Poor communication.

-Fuel pressure gauge (in car).

-Redo fuel filter screens to larger size.

I am going to add electric fans from a Ford Contour to my 69 Mustang when the engine goes in & was wondering what fan controller did you use?.

I will never put in a Taurus fan again. The Contour/Cougar fans literally look stock to the car, and I love that look.

I actually don't have a fan controller currently. I was in a major time crunch and made my own harness to a big relay. Currently I have a temporary switch under my dash I have to turn on/off manually.

I was talking with my tuner and he says there is a PIN on the ECM that will allow me to run a signal wire and trigger the relay on/off at a certain temp. He is going to play with my car some more this spring. If that doesn't work I will use a DCC Fan controller.

Relay Controllers and Accessories

These seem to have the best reviews out there.

I gave my new A9S a test in the car last night. Fired right up. Next I will be purchasing a braided fuel line to move my gauge up to the windshield for temporary. Eventually it will be installed in the cowl. Need to see if I'm loosing pressure at WOT.

Will prolly also purchase some headlight buckets as mine are cracked badly and the lights aim right at the ground.
