It's MODDING TIME!! I've finally decided that I'm tired of kids with SS's, Civics, Subs, ETCETCETC thinking they're SO FAST. So I have an 08 AUTO gt (unfortunately). I'd specifically like to be faster than a new SS and a stage 2 wrx putting down like 350 AWHP in a straight line or on mild twists.
Here's the game plan:
TCI Ratchet shifter (for manual shifting in the powerband, unless i'm told its a total waste)
Honestly I don't know a whole lot of people who are using them. Most people with autos I know of are using converters but like I said, I don't know a whole lot of people who are running them.
CAI and Tune (bama tuner and airaid cai or steeda havent decided yet, advice?)
The two best CAI's on the market are the C&L Racer and the JLT110mm CAI with the JLT110 being the most popular among those that who are serious about N/A muscle out of the 3V
Under drive pulleys (SR or steeda?)
Steeda for sure!
Charge motion delete plates or a new intake manifold (whichever is better)
FRPP Intake Manifold for sure! Not only are you going to reap the benefits of the CMDP's but you are also going to pickup more HP and extend the RPMs and the powerband
SR performance throttle body
Throttle Bodies prove to be quiet useless even when going to the FRPP 62mm you are gaining MAYBE 5HP at the most
Hotchkis subframe connectors (other suggestions?)
Pretty much added weight as the chassis for the S197 is pretty stiff as is
SR performance strut tower brace
Again added weight as you don't really even need them for torsional regidity. IDK why Ford decided to put one on the Boss 302s, maybe for that maybe for the extra look of a race car, but the Boss 302 S's snd R's don't run them.
SR performance lower control arms
Are you lowered at all? The LCA's will help you a little bit with some traction
Eibach Sway bar kit
More suggestions please! Unfortunately i'll never be able to save up enough for FI in the distant future and cannot do any more exhaust modifications because of police in my area/inspection. Any suggestions on whats above or what else to do are welcome! Thank you for all responses and helping me build a kicka** car!
Now you are talking my area of expertise! The most you are going to gain out of the setup you posted above is 290-300HP. Now most of the Stage 2 Wrecks and STD's that I have seen are trapping around 107-112 which puts them in the 320-350HP range while the stock SS's are trapping at about those same speeds and are putting down roughly 350-370 depending on LS3 or L99. Now if you want to compete at these levels you are going to need more then a CAI and tune.
If I were you I would do this:
1. Go to Brenspeed and get their B323 shortblock
2. Top it off with RGR/JPC Stage 2 Heads
3. Upgrade the valvetrain and drop in some Comp 127600 cams with lockouts
4. Top it off with a FRPP Intake Manifold (or if I could find a JPC intake Manifold :drool
5. Get some nice black wrinkle finish Ford Racing Cam covers with the laser etched Ford Racing logo
6. Steeda UDP's
7. JLT 110mm CAI
8. Magnum XL Transmission from JPC Racing
9.Aluminum Driveshaft
10. 4.10 gears
11. 2V chain tensioners
12. Ford Racing 65mm Throttle Body with BBR adapter plate
13. Figure out the little odds and ends along the way
14. Cross my fingers and hope for 430 at the wheels
Just be happy you're not me because I am the only dumb **** here crazy (or stupid) enough to shoot for an all out N/A build with a modular engine.
BUT since you are not me and you have some pretty reasonable goals I suggest something like this.
1. FRPP Intake Manifold (The stock throttle body flows enough cfms to support what you need without having to change it out)
2. JLT 110mm CAI or the C&L Racer CAI
3. Steeda UDPs (Just be aware that your car will have slightly lower electrical output)
4. Comp 127200 Cams ( They are a NSR type cam meaning No Spring Required so it is basically just pull the old cams out and drop the new ones in

) or if you would like a lopey idle I would go with the Detroit Rocker's or Hot Rod Cams as they seem to make more HP than the Mother Thumper cams with a slight edge (SLIGHT) to the Detroit Rockers.
5. Long Tube Headers with a catted H-pipe( I know you said that you don't want to draw attention to yourself from the cops, but if you use a catted mid pipe and abandon the idea of muffler deletes and go with a quieter muffler like the GTB mufflers from The Bullitt/FRPP then you should be alright
[ame=http://youtu.be/2uzV1M6xgVI]2008 Bullitt. Longtubes, Offroad H-Pipe, Bullitt Mufflers. - YouTube[/ame])
6. 4.10 gears
7. Aluminum Driveshaft
8. Maybe some lighter wheels if you would like
9. Torque converter would be nice as well for you but idk if that is an option for you.
10. A KICK ASS TUNE!!!
With this combo you should be making somewhere around 320-340 to the wheels. Where in Westchester are you?
