Yea lighting def makes a difference with this color. I don't think I have one picture that looks like it's the same color.

And it seldom looks like the correct color, too!!! But, once in awhile, it does. That trait is growing on me.

It's October and what better way to celebrate then to take Genie to a cemetery. A really old one...

This is the Mortuary Chapel & Receiving Vault at the Oakwood Cemetery in Syracuse, New York which was built in 1879.

We have an Oakwood cemetery nearby in Troy that has a huge old crematorium too. You're car is looking great. All I have added to mine is just a spare tire!

I had a lot planned and ready to go once I got the car. I have more to do but am running out of time this fall. I thought I could get an exhaust on by now. That is probably going to have to wait until Spring along with an oil catch can and wastegate actuator.

If Cobb comes out with 2017 maps for the Accessport I have soon, I'll get that going.

Stopped by Old Forge a couple of weekends ago. Cloudy but dry. Cruising up Route 28 was a joy. Smooth road with nice twists and turns with little traffic early on a Sunday morning.

Also climbed up Bald Mountain.

My 2017 modding season has begun with a couple of engine bay appearance items.

First, my wife gave me this JLT Performance OEM Painted Ecoboost Engine Cover done up in Grabber Blue with Orange Lettering for our anniversary. I wanted to do something with the ugly coolant overflow tank and found the MMD Coolant Overflow Tank Cover with Mustang Lettering in Textured Matte Black at American Muscle.

Yesterday, I had a Custom Exhaust for Ecoboost Mustangs installed by B&D Exhaust in Binghamton, New York. In essence, the big and heavy resonator Ford used is replaced with a 1-in/2-out performance muffler. I choose the MagnaFlow 12268 Exhaust Muffler and a pair of 4-inch Stainless Steel Double-Walled Tips.

The tricky part is fabricating the S-pipe needed between the downpipe and the muffler inlet.

The piping from the muffler to the tailpipes was all new and bent and attached using the factory hangers.

Here's the finished work.

Close up of a tailpipe.

The sound is excellent. Very "smooth" compared to the factory, if that makes any sense. Nice deep sound when I hit the gas. It will never sound like a GT but that's not the point of this exhaust for me. The point was freeing up the restrictions in the factory exhaust with a heavy resonator and two mufflers, cleaning up the look of the rear end and getting better performance. It certainly feels like the latter goal was meant but I have no empirical evidence. Just my seat of the pants dyno.

Cost was $750. I had two other shops quote me the same price so I felt I was not being taken advantage of. Still, it was cheaper than Gibson's Catback with similar muffler setup. Plus, I trusted these guys. Especially, Hank who did the work. I could tell right away he was the perfect fit for the job as soon as we started talking. I highly recommend B&D Exhaust if you live within 150 miles of their location.
