Hi everyone,
I have an '89 GT, all stock. I recently had the clutch replaced. When I got the car back, it was making a squealing/chirping noise when the pedal was fully released, and your foot was on the gas. If I were to rest my foot on the clutch pedal very lightly, the noise went away. Obviously I wouldn't do that because I don't want to wear out the clutch. I took it to the mechanic, and he said he adjusted it, but the noise is still there. I went to a different mechanic and had the fluid in the transmission changed, but the noise persists. Any ideas what it could be? Like I said, the chirp is present when your foot is on the gas, and the clutch pedal is fully released. If you lightly tap the clutch, the noise disappears.
