Looking good Jeff, I would get rid of that cowl hood, not a big fan, just my 02. Are you sure like the poster before me said about the carb dumping fuel?. You said in your first post it is a 2BBL carb, check under the front of the carb to see if it has the power valve, there should be a 1"X1" or maybe a little larger cover held on by 4 screws that covers the power valve. Pull that cover off it there is gas in there the valve is leaking & needs to be replaced which maybe causing your problem. Are the tailpipes black?.

Floats out of Adjustment can cause that. Same as a stuck injector or bad regulator on an Fuel injected car

Hopefully that's it. I have a Holley regulator on it but I need to get a fuel pressure gauge so I know what I'm getting for PSI at the carb.

Well the compression is in the mid to high 150 psi range across the board so the motor is pretty tight! I think my problem is the regulator I have is a piece of shit so I'm going to save up and get a nice Mallory unit that has a return line hook up to bleed off the excess fuel.

So I have since got a Moallory regulator, I'm going to be buying a new Holley carb in a couple of days. I put my stock hood back on and got my floor pan, but now I have to weld it up. Here's how she sits...




And my new sheet metal just sitting in there. Once that's done I will have taken care of the ONLY small bit of rust on the entire car!
