Recently sold a 99 Cobra, all stock except for suspension. It wasn't the fastest car but it was responsive and felt like a performance car. Recently picked up a 2008 GT/CS ragtop . It looks great and drives nicer than the Cobra but it is a complete dog. Feels like I'm driving a 79 Trans Am, step on the gas and wait for it to go. My wifes 328 is more responsive.
I'm not big into hot rodding any more. I've done my share of dropping thousands into a car and then selling it for less than I could've got if I left it stock. My thoughts are a tune and a set of 3.73 gears might wake it up.
A 5.0 would be the way to go, I know. But with 2 in college a 5.0 ragtop is not in the budget.
Any autos on Long Island had any basic work done to wake them up.
