I hate this car. My Wife's 98 Cobra vert.
It has been sitting for a while and the battery was dead. I charged it, turned the key, nothing.
I let the car charge longer, theft light keeps blinking, so i detach the neg batt cable overnight.
Go back out, turn key, fuel pump primes, starter just clicks.
I am thinking battery is just shit, so I get a new one, also clean cable- try again- starter just clicks.
Pulled out starter (Which is oneo fthe most difficult starters to remove in the history of automobiles!) looks to be in good condition, terminals are clean. I pulled it apart, cleaned it up- The brushes had a little corrosion on them, cleaned em'.
I hook the starter directly to the battery, starter engages and is working fine.
Put starter back in, with new battery- still clicks- I give up!
I was thinking, maybe a bad ground on starter?
