Re: 2012 Mustang Rally Finger Lakes
Which event do u guys recommend? I can only really afford the time for 1 event as summer is my busy season.
I'd go to all the track events if I could. I didnt realize it but last weekend was opening day for Lime Rock Park In Conn. Ran into one of my Porche friends that went & he asked why I wasnt there. LR is closer than WG to. Its a very historic great little track with a lot of elevation changes.

I recommend going on Saturday for the show and parade. I know you really want to do the track but you'll have a great opportunity at the Grand Prix. They do a couple laps at the track and a couple of the old course. I know you enjoy the history of the track and I think you'll get more out of the Grand Prix for that. Also, it is September and should be out of your busy time. I'm going to the Grand Prix also.

Re: 2012 Mustang Rally Finger Lakes
Saturday at the rally of the Finger Lakes is always a fun day. As far as the track goes, I would go to the track where you get the most laps for your money.

Yes, the whole Rally is a GREAT TIME!! Wasn't sure if Frosty was asking to choose between days at the rally or between Grand Prix and the Rally. If choosing between Friday or Saturday of the Rally, I would choose Saturday. If choosing between the Rally and Watkins, I would say the Rally but depends what you're looking to get out of it. The Rally is 2 days and will cost you about $50 plus food/hotel. A lot of NYM'ers will be there including a bunch from Central NY. Molly Saleen will be at the track. You get to do 3 laps at the track, car show and parade Saturday and Poker run if you choose to stay Sunday. The Grand Prix is $140 plus food/hotel and is more of a festival. Friday you go to brunch, do laps at Watkins then do laps of the old course. There is festival in downtown Watkins Glen afterward. Sat/Sun there are races. There will be a few NYM'ers at this but probably only myself from Central NY.
