Yes, that is my consideration or may be the 16" chrome caravan mustang montecarlo wheels. Which ever would fit for sure or better. I don't want to run into any problems.

Thank you for any opinion,
John

I'm sorry, I ment to say, I'm interested in either the 16" chrome mustang grand prix eclipse monte carlo wheels or the 16" chrome mustang caravan monte carlo wheels. Wihch ever fits better without any problems.

Any opinion would be greatly appreciated,
John

neither will fit- incorrect offset, and the bolt pattern is different by a couple mm.

Thank you very much for saving me future problems with your info.

Since my last note, I found another wheel made by "Wheel Replicas" it is a Ford Replica Wheels Cobra R chrome, 16 x 8, 5 x 4.5, +15 offset (I have 225/60 x R16 tires) .
I wonder if that wheel might work ??

they will fit, but your tires will be too thin.

your best bet is to find a set of 96-04 GT wheels, which are 17x8. you can find sets with good tires for the same price or less then 4 new rims will cost you. They will look a bit better then 16's, and have proper tires.

Thank you for your info. "NYStang"

What I'm trying to understand, when you said : "they will fit, but the tires will be too thin", you mean that my current tires will work (the 225/60R x 16", but it just will not look as good ?? )
I hate to get red of my current tires since they are almost brand new.

When I looked up the specs on the cobra R 16 x 8 chrome wheels on the NTB tire store web site, they said that the wheel was matched up with 225R55 x 16 tires. You mean that the difference between the 225R55 and my almost new 225R60 x 16 would make that much difference. The tire store said that those tires will work O.K. on those wheels. (Even thou my original equipment wheel is 16 x 7-1/2)

I'm just trying to be absolutely right and not have any problems with the new Cobra R wheels and my own tires that are on the car.

Thank you so much for your opinion,
John

i mean the width may be small- most 8" wheels take a 245 section width tire. with a 225, theey will work, but look a bit thin on the wheel and not protect the lip as well. however, they will work perfectly fine, just be careful parking
