Default 01 GT Supercharge it or build an Engine for it?

Hey everyone woundering witch way to go supercharging my 01 GT 74K 2v with a KB or procharger or should I wait n just build me an engine regular or stroke out I'm woundering if my stock engine can handle a blower or not one of the two is going to happen just need some advise on witch way to go.anyone hav some suggestons thks...

you should be able to run 6-9psi on stock internals pretty good. but that wont make insane power. depending on how much you want/what to expect build the internals one winter then supercharger it the next or something like that.. i'd build up the motor first, and maybe rear end. A friend of mine put 10 grand into a 4v 4.6l in internals and supercharger and is pushing 600hp safely

yeah ur right I knew the build was the way to go I didn't want to be worrying about the internals.My goals are to build a sleeper 2v so I can surprise n eat my homies 01 n 03 Cobra n shut all those 2v haters up.Was thinking of dss 302 block or a windser n let them pack it with eagel internals not sure yet n twisted wedg heads comp cams hav any thoughts on it?

How is getting a 302 or a windsor going to "shut all those 2v haters up"?

Aren't you sort of supporting their view point if you remove the 2v from your car?

made a big mistake my fult still hav some homework to do on it but that's what I'm planing on doing or a stroker on it starting very soon.thats why I'm here guys cuz I don't know everything n still need ur advise

How much power are you actually looking for????
You could go with a inter/aftercooled supercharge setup to pick up good power for now (High 3xx to low 4xx's) safely... they say 420-50 is around the limit for us 2vs... Building the engine will be good for when boosted but I think I would enjoy the lower boost levels first then build an engine for when you want to bump the boost!

Hey I'm looking for like 450 rwhp was hoping if I did the lower internals n uppers head cam etc.whats best stroker kit or what? N then in a few mouth later get me a KB Charger

I don't even know if getting that much power out of an NA 2v is possible, if it is, I doubt it will be in anyway streetable.

Hell, the LS1 motors need a whole head/cam setup to hit 450rwhp and they're a lot better for NA setups than the 2v are

Just look a couple of threads down at this thread:

Trick Flow 2V top end kit from Summit...

A whole top end kit and they hit 390 at the motor, so you're looking at approximately 320-340 or so at the wheels


Before you do anything, take awhile and research what the 2v are capable of and what is worth doing to them

Id get the KB and bolt in on! It will put you pretty close to where you want to be @ with the standard 9-10psi....
Then you could build the engine for boost....Then when the engine is ready (If your still ready for more) then you can up the boost!

This seems like the best way to go, but before you build the engine for more boost, make sure you build up the rest of the car to not break/actually be usable. Don't ignore the transmission, suspension, rear end(not really sure if this applies to the 8.8" rears), etc.

It's not all about power. It's about power that won't break the car the second you press the pedal while also not making you spin into the nearest tree
